The new coach of the Super Eagles, Gernot Rohr has made a shocking remark that Nigeria’s chances of qualifying for the 2018 World Cup is not guaranteed. Rohr, whose monthly salary is $40,000 was given a mandate by the Nigeria Football Federation to qualify the Super Eagles for the 2018 soccer fiesta in Russia.

The Super Eagles handler revealed that Nigeria is in a tough group as far as the 2018 World Cup is concerned stressing that a lot of hard work will be required for the west Africa nation to make it to Russia.

“There is no guarantee that the Super Eagles will be in Russia because there is so much quality in our group, but the motivation is very high.

“We are going to try our best, but again I cannot guarantee that Nigeria is going to the next World Cup,” the coach revealed.

Rohr, who spoke in Uyo, which is the venue where Nigeria and Tanzania will go head-to-head this Saturday also divulged that he would try to convinced goalkeeper, Vincent Enyeama to come out of his international retirement.

Enyeama hanged up his international boots last year after a bust up with former Super Eagles handler Sunday Oliseh in Belgium.

“My plan is to meet Vincent Enyeama after our game against Tanzania, and I will go to France to see him and see how I can persuade him to come out of retirement because he is part of my plans”.

When asked if Rohr is comfortable with the possibility of him working and not being paid by the NFF, he said he is used to the situation.

”I was owed between 6-8 months in Niger and I think I’m used to being owed in Africa,“ the coach revealed.

The Super Eagles  is playing  on Saturday in an Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Tanzania.
