Man gives sick wife own kidney for 20th wedding anniversary to save her life

Scott Chafian and Cindy got married 20 years ago, and to celebrate their anniversary and show his love to his wife, Scott donated one of his kidneys to his wife.
Cindy suffered from polycystic kidney disease and had been on dialysis for almost two years, so Scott decided to do something about it.
According to CNN, he told his wife he wanted to give her his kidney again, as he had offered the kidney six years ago, but back them she refused it.
Scott said: “It was just a feeling of helplessness.” Cindy, who endured multiple surgeries and has gotten progressively sicker, said: “I hit kind of rock bottom, and I looked at him and I said okay, I’m ready.”
Cindy also said: “He called me and he told me that everything was a go. He gave me a date and that was the first time I allowed myself any emotion and I actually cried.”
The transplant surgery took place on January 24, the day before their 20th anniversary.
The couple will not be able to work while they recover, so they’ve set up a GoFundMe page to help defray costs.
