Nigeria’s fashion label, Orange Culture flew the colours of Africa, on the platform of the London Fashion Scout during the just ended, London Fashion Week, where it was the first African Menswear label to be invited for the show.

Orange culture was sponsored to the international fashion show by  leading Nigeria, money transfer company, Funds & Electronic Transfer Solutions Limited (fets), who had pledged to  support local entrepreneurs in their quest to become global brands.

According to the Chief Executive Officer of Orange Culture, Adebayo Oke-Lawal, he was grateful to fets for supporting his company’s dreams of showcasing its designs at the Fashion Scout London Fashion Week AW17, describing it as one of the best things that has happened to the company. “I’m glad that we’ve been able to collaborate with a company that’s built on innovation and forward thinking-attributes that are in alignment with the brand Orange Culture,” he said.

Speaking on the development, Managing Director of fets, Mrs. Omotade Odunowo said the company was proud to be associated with the Orange Culture brand, describing it as a future global brand that will do Nigerians proud in years to come. According to her, the sponsorship was just one of the strategies it has used to encourage local entrepreneurs.

“At fets, we are continually looking for ways to encourage and empower Nigerian entrepreneurs to achieve their dreams of taking their businesses to the next level. This is what we hope to achieve with this sponsorship arrangement with Orange Culture; taking it beyond the shores of this country to become a truly global brand in the near future,” she said.

The Fashion Scout, which took place between February 17 and February 21 2017, has been responsible for the launch of well-known British brands such as Felder Felder, David Koma, and Peter Pilotto and most recently, Phoebe English, Xiao Li, Gyo Yuni Kimchoe and Roberts|Wood.

Alongside the brightest British talent, Fashion Scout provides unrivalled platforms for industry selected international designers and collective showcases including those from China, Scandinavia, Eastern Europe, Middle East and Asia. Having built an acclaimed reputation as a leading international fashion showcase, Fashion Scout is frequented by top media and buyers including Anna Wintour, Hilary Alexander, Sara Maino, Suzy Menkes, Lucinda Chambers and Sarah Mower, as well as globally recognized fashion personalities such as Kate Moss, David Gandy and Henry Holland.
