Bread-seller turned model, Olajumoke Orisaguna takes no offence at being referred to as ”dirt poor” by a South African Magazine

A South African publication recently reported the story of  bread seller turned model, Olajumoke Orisaguna’s rise to fame.

However, the headline which read “Dirt Poor Bread Seller Jumoke’s Story, A Fairy Tale” did not sit well with Nigerians online, as they were annoyed at the use of “dirt poor” in describing the young mother of two.

Even the subject of the article, Olajumoke wasn’t  offended by the description, as she simply searched for the meaning of ‘dirt poor’ in the dictionary and explained to her fans that the statement was not exactly an insult, but an explanation of her situation before good fortune happened.

She said: “I appreciate the love and concern, dear friends and family. I put this up to assure you the headline in my previous post meant no harm. It’s just a culture thing, remember it was published in South Africa. God bless you all.”

Recent updates from Olajumoke reveal that the headline from the South African publication has been changed . On Instagram lately, Olajumoke wrote:

”Good day fam, the caption of my interview with SowetanLive has been changed, you all are the reason I’m here so your opinion counts. Please read the story online. Thanks for your support, God bless you all & God bless SowetanLive for listening to your outcry. All I see is Love. #olajumoke #Grace #Blessed #Qtaby”
