A man, who dangled a baby down a 15-storey building, threatening to drop the child if his post on Facebook did not reach 1000 likes has been arrested.
According to Alarabiya reports, the viewers of the man’s Facebook live session knowing the baby was in danger quickly drew the attention of the police and he was arrested.
Surprisingly, in court the father of the baby defended the accused (who is known to be a relative of the baby) claiming that he was just playing games.
And while the prosecutors said that the man did the stunt to gain more likes and views on social media, the defendants claimed that the balcony had protective bars that were “photoshopped/removed” by Facebook users to make the viral image hideous.
However, the accused, who was found guilty, got convicted of child abuse and is serving two years in prison.
