My music is not to win Grammy awards – Femi Kuti

October 10,2017
Share:

By Patricia Uyeh,
Afrobeat musician, Femi Kuti, who has been nominated for the Grammy four times in the World Music Category in 2003, 2010, 2012 and 2013 has remained undeterred by the losses.

According to the ‘Wonder Wonder’ crooner, his career is not based on winning a Grammy.

He believes that if it was meant to be so, he “would have won one by now.”
For Femi Kuti,  the music he learnt and his music today is based on fighting for “electricity, good education, injustice, corruption …”

He went further to add that he is using his music “as a platform to fight for the underprivileged.”

This revelation comes just a few days to Felabration where millions of Nigerians will come together to celebrate the life and times of his father, Nigeria’s foremost musical legend, the late Fela Anikulapo Kuti on October 15.
