Stop buying followers – Singer, Davido calls out colleague

In a quest to stay popular, people particularly celebrities  buy fake followers to boost their social media followership. Judging from self-acclaimed ‘Omo Baba Olowo’, Davido’s Snapchat post, it appears he has caught one of our celebrity boosting his/her follower count by buying followers.

Last night, he took to his Snapchat to throw a jibe at the undisclosed suspect. He wrote;

“Ahhhh… I don catch you… lmao… Stop buying followers… you know yourself…”.
See screenshot below…”

There are speculations that Davido is referring to his biggest rival Wizkid, whose latest hit single “Manya” video was pulled off Youtube and Vevo yesterday due to contract infringement with Sony.

Currently, Davido is Nigeria’s most followed celebrity on Instagram, with 5.3 million followers.

He is followed closely by Wizkid, who has over 4.3 million followers. Tiwa Savage takes fourth place with 3.9 million followers while Don Jazzy follows closely with 3.6 million followers.

Then, Nollywood actress, Genevieve Nnaji falls in next with 3.2 million while Peter Okoye has 3.3 million followers.
