By Sewe Ishola,
Nigerian entertainers, Tiwa Savage and Burna Boy has made the list of the newly launched VogueWorld 100 list by Vogue magazine.
Tiwa Savage made the list via the section that focuses on Instagram feeds that can act as fashion inspiration. The magazine captioned a photo of Tiwa thus, “Tiwa Savage is an accomplished Afropop and R&B singer-songwriter from Nigeria with a taste for Gucci logos and bold streetwear.”
For Burna Boy, the magazine focused on how his eclectic tastes affects both his music and fashion sense; “I was always the one who didn’t really want to follow that. I wanted to start it. I just always went off. I just always came up with my own little twist,” he says, citing his idiosyncratic styling of the popular bucket hat (that everyone later copied) as an early example of this rebellious approach to self-presentation.”
“Judging off the outfits that he posts to Instagram, he continues to do his own thing to this day, whether he’s wearing clashing tie-dye on tie-dye or mixing bold prints with a sporty orange long-sleeved T-shirt.”
The VogueWorld 100, which debuts today, is a curated list of distinctive creative voices from around the globe, encompassing actors, artists, musicians, athletes, stylists, activists, chefs, choreographers, videographers, beauty fanatics, glamour girls, and wonderful weirdos of every stripe.
