The novel fashion extravaganza billed to hold at Ten Degrees Event Center, Billings Way, Ikeja, is being put together by R2W Pioneers, a group of fashion stakeholders who have decided to come together as a hub to make the production of ready-to-wear garments a reality.
Speaking at a press conference in Lagos on Monday, Project Manager for R2W Pioneers, Eizu Uwaoma said, the group is creating a revolution by creating a platform for Nigerian designers to produce garments of high quality that can compare with others produced in fashion capitals like China.
He added, that the success of the project, will not only reduce the problem of unemployment and develop other aspects of the value chain, he added that it would also “cut down on capital flight from Nigeria”.
The three-day expo which will have over 40 designers participating, will feature exhibitions, fashion shows as well as Master Classes that will address the capacity development challenges of designers as well as expose them to the latest technology for designing, cutting and sewing.
