American singer, Mariah Carey opens up about battle with bipolar disorder

American music sensation, Mariah Carey opened up about her battle with il-health. Speaking to PEOPLE magazine, she revealed that she had been battling with bipolar II disorder. According to her, she was first diagnosed in 2011 which she refused to accept. However, she is now on medication and receiving therapy.
The ‘Hero’ singer said:
“Until recently I lived in denial and isolation and in constant fear someone would expose me,” she says. “It was too heavy a burden to carry and I simply couldn’t do that anymore. I sought and received treatment, I put positive people around me and I got back to doing what I love — writing songs and making music.”
