The Lagos Fashion Bridal Week 2018 has come and gone but would not be forgotten in a hurry.

This is because as it progressed, it gathered more momentum.

The whole three days was quite interesting and exciting.

Asides the runway, the exhibitions and wedding consultations, the masterclasses were another high point of the event. Seasoned professionals in the bridal fashion industry spoke on everything and anything related to bridal fashion.
One of the speakers at the masterclass was Yinka Alli, a bridal wear fashion designer who understands her craft so well that she spoke on the topic; ‘Picking the right wedding dress’.
She shared tips on how to get the perfect wedding dress and this included;
-Trying dresses on to know you perfect fit.
-Knowing ones budget and sticking to it.
-Doing research on what you want
-Choosing an avenue
-Checking out previous clients of the designer
She also stressed the importance of bridal wear consultations and understanding the different fabrics. Speaking on why she is not based in Nigeria, according to her she was born in London and it was her first time in Nigeria for a fashion show.

She believes there are many opportunities in Nigeria which she would definitely tap into as a fashion designer.

“Getting into the fashion industry is not easy. As you can see. You must be talented, you must really have a passion for it. That is what will carry you through to a point where you would get established. So having a strong support system is also important. They are the ones that would tell not to quit and tell you what your vision is and keep you going. I decided to use my job to start my business one day ” Yinka Alli said while speaking on some challenges she faced as a fashion designer.
