Singer, Brymo claims to invent ‘alternative’ music in Nigeria

Nigerian musician, Olawale Ashimi, better known by his stage name Brymo, who caused a stir on the internet with his nude stunt in his ‘Heya’ video, this time around, has come out to claim that he is the one who invented ‘alternative’ genre of music in Nigeria.
On Instagram, Brymo made this declaration, writing;
“In the Nigerian music scene, the ‘alternative’ was invented by me in 2013 as a cure to the ills of the mainstream, not to be a part of it. To be ‘alternative’ means that the process of recording, performing, distributing and rating your work is different from the mainstream.”
