Nobel Laureate’s Wole Soyinka’s ‘Death and the King’s Horseman’ movie coming soon

Movie freaks are in for a jolly good ride as media mogul, Mo Abudu took to social media to announce that her production company, EbonyLife Films has started working on a screen adaptation of Nobel laureate Wole Soyinka’s book, “Death and the King’s Horseman”.
She wrote:“Work and planning continues with EbonyLife Films development of our forthcoming feature film – Death and the King’s Horseman – Yes beautiful people EbonyLife Films has acquired the rights to make this incredible work into a feature film for global distribution. We will continue to change the narrative and tell our stories. Lord we thank you for all these incredible opportunities you give us .”
Award-winning writer, Wole Soyinka’s “Death and the King’s Horseman” , which was premiered on March 1st, 1975, is a play based on a real incident that took place in Nigeria during British colonial rule: the horseman of a Yoruba King who passed away in Oyo, an ancient Yoruba city of Nigeria was prevented from committing ritual suicide by the colonial authorities as against the law and custom of the land.
