A tattoo is a form of body modification, made by inserting indelible ink into the dermis layer of the skin to change the pigment.

We’ve noticed body art, tattoo, among sports stars.

Football stars are more likely to strip off and reveal their tattoos than the rest of us, but tattoos are not only fashionable among footballers.

Nigerian celebrities have embraced tattoos as well. A huge number of them have tattoos- some discreet and some openly in-your-face, and they are never shy to flaunt it.

While tattooing the body is more common with male celebs, the females are clearly not left behind. This can be permanent, temporary or colourful.

It can also be drawn on any part of the body- from the neck to wrist, shoulders, hands, thighs, legs, belly, waist and any other part of the body.

Some people get it in the name of love, and wish they can now remove them after the relationship has gone sour; others are desperately trying to pretend they didn’t get one of their exes. And some celebrities get it, not to impress anyone, but mostly because they feel it looks good on them.

Here’s a compilation some Nigeria celebrities with in-your-face tattoos
