Bra Care: How to get rid of wires popping out

November 15,2018
Share:

In case you don’t know, the leading causes of ruined bra are wrong sizing and poor washing method.

When the bra is not your size, very soon the wire would pop out. Same thing when you mishandle your bra by the way you wash it.

So now you know, here is what to do fix your bra wire:

  1. Use moleskin. A moleskin is a cotton fabric with a sticky side used to pad shoes. You can also use it for your bra wires when they stick out.
  2. Use Tissue. Take a square of tissue paper and fold it into a rectangle. Then wrap it around the exposed wire , tucking the end between the wire and the bra.
  3. Use band aids. They can replace moleskins. Simply push the wire back into the bra with your fingers. Take a band-aid and place it over the hole making sure it overlaps the bra’s edge.
  4. Use a piece of cloth and duct tape. Cut a piece of cloth to cover the wire hole. Push the wire into the bra. Then take some duct tape and roll into a cylindrical shape. Place the duct tape on the piece of cloth leaving the other sticky half of the tape exposed. Then, place the exposed sticky tape over the wire hole and press down.
