How to enjoy single hood happily

February 17,2019

Single’s life is most often perceived as negative whereas in actual fact, singlehood symbolizes freedom, independence and untapped potential for growth.

‘’ Single is not a status, it is a word that describes a person who is strong enough to live and enjoy life without depending on others.’’ The obvious stigma to living single is just one ominous word ‘alone’, that is to say that Singles operate alone.

It is possible you have been in relationships that went sour and decide to be alone, or recovering from breakups and need some time to regroup or you have dated here and there and have not be able to find the lucky one, the truth is that there are many reasons why people choose to be single.

Society has not be fair as they have treated singlehood as a phase ,but actually for some persons it is a life of choice and a valid one at that. ‘’ Some people are genuinely happier single than in a relationship, and that can be normal and healthy,’’ Antonia Hall, psychologist, relationship expert and author of the Sexy Little Guide books, tells Bustle. ‘’For some people, being single allows life to feel full and satisfying as it is.’’

She also stresses that just because you’re single, it doesn’t mean that you have to be lonely or unfulfilled.

‘’ The beauty of life is that there is no one-size-fits-all answer, and as long as life is filled with activities that bring you genuine contentment, you’re doing it right,’’ Hall says.
The following telltale signs below can help to show if you are on the right path to happiness as a single.

Singlehood gives you time to reconnect, a time where you can actually talk to yourself, debating all the questions and answers that are bouncing in your head. In other words, it is a time for reflection, time of acceptance and letting go of the past.
Coming home to an empty house and bed, do not wallow in self pity, get recharged emotionally and start a routine that is centered round you.

Cooking for one is still like cooking for a loved one – only that this time it will be for yourself. Use this time to pamper and relax yourself, get that chilled cocktail or ice tea, have your bath and off to bed you go. Read that great book and brainstorm on how to get ahead on your job, be sure to arrange and maintain your apartment to your exact preference so that you can always feel relaxed and comfortable whenever you are home after the day’s job.

Successful single or married always focus on positive vibes, so instead of feeling depressed because you don’t have a partner to cry or lean on, concentrate by preparing mentally for the next bad day as it can’t get worse. Focus on your skills you use for your daily activities by looking at what you can do to improve or avoid next time and get new ways to make them stronger.

Your schedule includes just you, your life is yours to run completely as you deem fit and having the flexibility to control every area of your schedule without compromising or interference from anyone.

This is called freedom, take charge and run with it, be responsible to yourself, focus on your goals, your needs and try to totally organize your entire routine around.
You are fully in charge of your finances as you don’t have to worry about your partner’s needs or desires, it is all about you being in control of budgeting as you won’t be criticized for a decision you made in haste.

You don’t get question as to how money was spent on stuff that a partner might not agree with. You get a chance to invest in your person, interests and passions, take this as a gift to be used wisely.
Get rid of any form of awkwardness at social events because of lack of escort, embrace your situation and use it to your full advantage.

Gist your married friends funny stories about living single and listen with an empathic heart and have gratitude that you survived a broken heart, no relationship stress over a partner, you attend the event alone, leave alone with none either.

You don’t have to worry about anybody checking on you working late as you have nobody to answer to, you do not face going home and waiting on your mate even when exhausted. There is nobody you are letting down, your time is yours; so use it productively to achieve success.
The idea of spontaneity is acting on impulse, the good side of being single is that you can act on impulse and this can be derived solely on your likes without having to accommodate a friend’s preference. So be spontaneous, have fun and cater for your impulse.

The act of showering love and adoration takes energy, you have to invest yours into that person, who will always be there for you, that is your being.
When next somebody give you that pity look and says sorry because you are single, do not get angry as singlehood is not a disease, it is a blessing since you live once and being single is hundred percent independent. Share your victories of independence with those who try to pity you. As a single, you are practically achieving everything alone while others have partners to fall back on hence this is victory not a pity party.

Love, befriend and treat yourself with kindness and attentiveness, focus on things you love and surround yourself with people that make you happy. Just do whatever make you happy by cutting yourself some slack and always tell yourself that you are lovable and worthy of love. Make your single life a success because in reality, the only thing that is for sure this day and age is that you have you, so make it a productive single life.

They are signs that you are happier been a single whether temporarily or long term. At the end of the day, you are your best company; you may as well enjoy it as much as you can till you decide to do otherwise.

HAPPY BELATED WORLD SINGLES DAY.
