5 Makeup Hacks You’ll Need For The Sunny Days

Hot, sunny weathers and makeup meltdowns go hand in hand – for obvious reasons.

The secret to keeping your face looking fabulous in the heat, however, is as simple as following a handful of seasonal beauty tips and tricks. Scroll through to discover six of our favorites.

Pick a Primer
This season, make your primer your new beauty best friend because this one product does so much to keep you looking sublime, come sun or sweat. Not only do primers provide important sun protection (make sure you pick one with an SPF), but they also smooth out the skin’s surface to create the perfect base for whatever makeup you apply on top, helping it last longer and not melt away. Lightweight and breathable, a primer is key to making sure your makeup stays put.

Set with a Spray
Offering a hydrating and refreshing boost whilst setting your makeup, face sprays are a surefire way to keep your cool and your makeup in place.

Opt for Waterproof
Streaky mascara and panda eyes are never a good look, so stop your makeup from streaking down your face by opting for a waterproof formula. Whether it’s mascara, liner, foundation, or even lipstick, there are waterproof options for everything these days – and you can rest assured that even the hottest summer day won’t contend with these cosmetics. Click here to discover the best waterproof mascaras, as tried and tested by our editors.

Save Your Shadow
Stop your eyeshadow from smudging, creasing, and fading in the heat by opting for a shadow primer. Working just like the primer for your face, it will smooth the skin on your lids for flawless application whilst helping your color ‘stick’ and last longer.

Switch It Up
To really make your makeup last longer, try using a loose powder on your skin before applying foundation. This simple switch helps mattify the skin and reduces shine, in turn helping your foundation last longer. This is particularly beneficial if you have oily skin, but you can also use powder only on the areas of concern if you have combination skin.
