Collapsed school: Nigerian celebrities react, calls Government to order

March 14,2019

Reacting to the school building that collapsed yesterday at Lagos Island, trapping over 100 pupils while over 20were reported dead, Nigerian celebrities have called on the government to look into school buildings to avoid a repetition.

They also commiserated with the parents that lost their kids at the ugly incidence.

Mary Remmy Njoku

It’s official that we are allergic to good news. This is sooo avoidable!!!! There are so many bad news like this, waiting to happen. Let’s do something. Re enforcement of building standards. I have seen sooo many of them in Lagos. If they cannot be refurbished, she should be pulled down! @akinwunmiambode @jidesanwoolu_apc @lagosstategovt @akinwunmiambode.

? We need to reduce the responsibilities we load on God

Building a house in Nigeria is like waving a wand and “kaboom!” a house appears!

Old houses are still plastered and painted bright colours to get people to rent them!

God gave us land but he also gave us brains! we should take responsibility!! Total eradication of bribery on issues that affect lives is needed!
Everything no be “hussle”
Some landlords in Nigeria are greasing hands and building “graveyards” in the name of houses, proper supervision does not exist here, everything is about money!

MONEY IS NOT OUR MAIN PROBLEM!

LETS DO OUR JOBS RIGHT!

IM SUPER HEART BROKEN!?

Toyin Abraham

Dear Buhari , state government.. it’s time for a cleanse. We must do an audit of every public building from schools, churches, mosques, malls, movie theatres.. many places were built to be bungalows and suddenly became apartment complexes, schools etc. why should these children suffer for incompetence. This wasn’t an earthquake o. Egbami ??‍♀️??‍♀️. Let all these places bring out their permits.. let an independent body audit without bribes please.. (chop your bribe elsewhere)… even for those who make it .. this is a traumatic horror movie they have had to live through. While we pray for God to help save souls.. some of it ain’t God.. it’s us.. we just have to do better ☹️? Sigh..

Basketmouth

It must be the most difficult thing in the world to lose a child…as a parent, my heart bleeds for those affected by this incident.
We pray for strength at a time like this, and we keep hope alive for those angels still trapped.
