Busola Dakolo Vs Pastor Fatoyinbo: Nigeria celebrities react

Celebrities rally support for Busola Dakolo as she shares her rape story

Busola Dakolo is a strong woman – Lepacious Bose

STRONG WOMAN!!!!. I celebrate you! Your courage is amazing. To have carried this pain and this burden for years must be traumatizing ……
No wonder every once in a while @timidakolo will lash out and people would wonder why he was “ranting”. No he was not ranting, the burden of the pain you carried was ripping him apart enough to speak out.
@busoladakolo May God heal you completely in spirit, mind, body and soul. May God comfort you.
Although some of us may never be strong enough to speak up like you did; but today, you stood up for us all.
On behalf of all broken women, emotionally scared ladies, violated young girls whose trust was turned as a weapon against them; on behalf of every David that had to contend with a Goliath in a world where we believe leaders are always right and a rape victim is the “guilty one”, the liar…..the seducer…
We thank you for taking a stand. The next few weeks will be tough for you as the jury of social media will tip through every inch of your life with a fine tooth comb, yes the bees will come after you to sting hard. The “children “ of the kingdom will curse you and call you demon possessed etc….through it all, hold on to your truth for therein lies your strength.
Meanwhile it’s ok to defend whoever you choose, the heart knows the truth. I have chosen to avoid social media today, I choose not to read any negative comment about this woman; pls don’t do it on my page; go to the blogs, general space etc but I beg you, DO NOT DRAG HER ON MY PAGE! Thank you. #istandwithbusola #istandwithbusoladakolo.

Every human has a right to say her truth – Ceec
Every human has a right to tell their story. I will not stand around and watch anyone try to silence a woman for speaking their truth. We live in a society where women suffer abuse daily and are too afraid to speak, for fear of condemnation. Any woman finding the courage to speak is nothing short of bravery in my eyes and nobody has a right to try to silence or discredit them.
I understand my stance may bring about certain consequences but it is important to me to make it known that I don’t support shaming or discrediting a woman for her truth .

Cut off his manhood – Ifuennada

from @ifuennada – We need to have an incorruptible team of people whose job will be to make sure every rapist gets what they deserve – castration and life sentence with hard labour after a session of undiluted beating and public disgrace, and if possible cut off their P*nis. If I wasn’t a Christian my prayer would be for the daughters, sisters and female relatives of supporters of Rapists to be raped severely so these Rape Enablers can understand how rape destroys its victims, but Jesus owns me and it won’t be fair to these ladies, so I can’t say this type of prayer. May God helps us all. #BusolaDakolo.

Thank you for speaking up – Rita Dominic

Busola Dakolo, thank you for having the courage to speak up. Many girls and women have gone through this in silence. Those who spoke up were derided and abused. Never again! We support you Busola! We love you and we will stand by you. Hold your head high sister. Hold your head high! We are with you! I hope this encourages us all to be just as brave as you.

It was so hard to watch – Banky Wellington
This was so hard to watch. I’m so sorry that you (Busola Dakolo) went through this nightmare. But I’m so proud of you for sharing your truth.
You didn’t speak up for yourself alone, but for all the voiceless victims who have suffered similar horrors at the hands of predators like him. I’m sending love, light and support your way. We are standing by you and Timi Dakolo. God bless, protect and strengthen you. Stay strong. You are incredible. Unbroken, unchained. I stand with Busola.

This is spiritual manipulation – Destiny Amaka

Busola Dakolo is the face of courage. Thank you for sharing your story! Timi Dakolo thank you for standing by her. May God continue to heal places we aren’t able to see or reach. Thank you for using your voice to set so so so many more free. This is spiritual manipulation. Say no to rape. I stand with Busola. Nigeria is changing!

You have given strength to many – Kate Henshaw

Courage is not the absence of fear, it is facing your truth, standing tall and speaking out inspite of it. I love you Busola Dakolo. You don’t know how many you have given strength to. I stand with you. You’re a strong woman.

We must get rid of this religious impunity – Nazo Ekezie

I remember vividly when we gave our lives to Christ and dedicated everything to God, sang in choir, went for workers meeting, foundation school e.t.c
At that point in our lives we sat under the teaching and counsel of “Pastor” about 4 to 5 times a week, at some point these pastors started to look like God in our eyes. we considered them spotless and called them FATHER.
So YES! it’s possible to not fight such men when they attempt to rape and abuse you. It’s also possible to try to forgive them because of God and move on like nothing happened but most importantly, “The fear of judgement ” cripples women from speaking up!
We must get rid of the religious immunity we have granted to them and speak the truth about these so called pastors and religious leaders. They are scaring our women/men/ children and getting away with it.
Thank you Busola Dakolo for being so strong! You are a true queen.

You can’t be bullied for speaking the truth – Don Jazzy

Busola Dakolo, thank you for being a voice for the many women that don’t have the courage to speak out yet. It is important we let our mothers, sisters, daughters know that you cannot be bullied for speaking the truth. I stand with Busola.

This is victory – Mercy Johnson Okojie

This is victory; There are so many scars but this is a victory to defeat the voice and the hand that tried to silence you.
And this is marriage, to share a love so deep that it becomes a source of strength in the deepest pain. God bless you both! Timi dakolo and Busola Dakolo. I stand with you at this time and always. You are such an example to every relationship.

Learn to respect a woman’s body – Belinda Effah

It is so bad that that some people will ask why she is speaking up now. Some silly person comes up with a stupid allegation of Busola Dakolo having a child out of Wedlock..and so ? There is something called consent. If she says no it means no! It means no.
If she likes B and decides to give to B and not to A , it’s her choice.
When she says no and you forcefully take it – It’s called Rape. Learn to respect a woman’s body.
Should we even be having this conversation? So sad how we have lost our morals – respect is reciprocal. If you’re highly placed in the society. It doesn’t give you room to take advantage of others . There is something called The Law. It’s doesn’t matter how long it takes, it will come after you.

Rape is an issue to be tackled – Uche Jombo

The healing process! She can speak out anytime she chooses, whatever time or year That’s she feels comfortable to speak, so face the real ” Rape “issue.
Stop asking rape victims why it took them years to speak. A woman can be a baby mama, a working girl, a sex worker whatever label you want to call her, at the end of the day RAPE is RAPE make no mistake about that.
