Ifeoma Williams celebrates mum for “keeping name intact” during service

Media and entertainment lawyer, Ifeoma Williams, has been celebrating her mum, who today is being awarded during the Nigerian Copyright Commission 30th Anniversary celebrations.

In an Instagram post on Tuesday, the brand influencer went down memory lane on how her mother, while serving as Acting Director General of The Nigerian Copyright Commission, fought pirates gallantly and was almost assassinated twice. That however did not deter her.
“When she refused “orders from above”, she was removed, then recalled after which she voluntarily retired and bowed out to the largest ovation after 35 years of diligent service to the Nigerian government and nation.” She noted.

She wrote: “Off to celebrate one of Nigeria’s unsung heroes who happens to be my biological mother! What a blessing!! My mother served as Acting Director General of The Nigerian Copyright Commission. She fought pirates gallantly and was almost assassinated twice. This did not deter her. When she refused “orders from above”, she was removed, then recalled after which she voluntarily retired and bowed out to the largest ovation after 35years of diligent service to the Nigerian government and nation.
“Once, I teased her, that if she had collected all the “egunje” which sometimes were USD in Ghana must go bags, she would have bought a house in Banana. Her response: My dear, I sleep well at night, with no physical or mental cancer. My name is also intact! I am remembered as the pirate and infringement warrior. Today, God has remembered you mummy as you take your award during the Copyright 30th Anniversary celebrations.
“Well done mummy !! #itsekiriprincess”
