Dealing with mood swings, cramps as well as other female health associated issues while having a job, managing a household, maintaining relationships, and looking impeccably gorgeous while doing it—is all in a day’s work for many women.

It might seem like too much to handle at times, but there’s a simple way to alleviate some of this stress: your diet. Some of the foods we consume can help to fend off diseases like diabetes, breast cancer, and heart disease; strengthen your bones; fortify your immune system; protect and smoothen your skin; and nurture your developing baby for pregnant women.

Below is a list of some foods and diets which are scientifically proven to have benefits for women’s health and which may be powerful allies and weightless efforts in years to come;

1*Foods to help prevent heart (cardiovascular) diseases*
Salmon, Dark Chocolate, Walnuts, Olive oil (as a replacement for unhealthy fats like vegetable and peanut oil), Apple, Oatmeal, Beans

2*Foods to Boost Brain Capacity (thus preventing age related neurodegenerative diseases like dementia and Alzheimer’s)*
Shrimp, Cinnamon, Blueberries, Almond Butter

3*Foods to protect from/prevent Cancer*
Turmeric, Whole grain bread, Tomatoes, Peanuts, Green Tea, Pomegranate

*Foods to boost immunity and improve mood*
Rooibois Tea, Portabella Mushrooms, Brazil Nuts, Beetroot

4*Foods to improve your looks and make you look beautiful*
Red Peppers, Cilantro, Sweet Potatoes, Shiitake Mushrooms, Citrus fruits

5*Foods to Boost Fertility*
Grass Fed Beef, Greet Yoghurt, Nettle, Flax seeds, Cranberry juice, Oysters, Lentils

6*Foods for Pregnant Women*
Spinach, Pumpkin Seeds, Quinoa, Broccoli, Ginger, Almond Milk, Eggs, Asparagus, Cod

7*Foods for Women going through Menopause*
