Anyaduba, Vice President of Liberia, Jewel Taylor, others speak at the African Bar Conference
The African Bar Association held her annual conference in Liberia on the 21-24 October 2019 at the Ministerial Conference Centre, Monrovia Liberia.
The conference was highly attended by Lawyers across Africa, Europe and America.
The Vice president of Liberia, Her Excellency, Dr Jewel Taylor flagged off the conference and gave a keynote address encouraging African Lawyers to cooperate with one another to strengthen the legal profession in Africa.
The theme of the conference was ‘Tackling Contemporary Issues in Africa; How Lawyers Can Drive a Renaissance. Nigerian SDG Advocate Chukwuebuka Anyaduba addressed the conference delegates on the need for the continent to drive home the Sustainability Development Goals and how African Bar has adopted and localized some of the goals particularly goals 1, 2, 8, 9 and 16.
During the 4 days conference, Anyaduba coordinated and hosted the SDG Media Zone Africa where delegates endorsed and discussed some of the Global Goals in line with the theme of the conference.
Also, the head of the International Criminal Bar Association, Mr Karim Khan gave a keynote speech where he highlighted that lawyers are part of the solutions and the keys to unlock the promise of Africa.
The President of Liberia his Excellency George Weah hosted the members of the African bar to a dinner and thanked the leadership of the bar for bringing the conference to Liberia.
