Fashion designer and CEO of Tiannah’s Place Empire, Toyin Lawani says her friendship with vivacious escentric television personality, Denrele Edun has been more than two decades.

The fashion icon posted on her Instagram handle how they both had been friends since they were 16 years old and slayed in their secondary school days.

“I and Denrele Edun has been friends since we were 16 years old. Yes, it has been 21 years now and we slayed together in school. Whenever we dress u for school, we must take pictures at the art block before we enter class. We would cut up our tshirts and use pins on it. I had a Mohawk hairstyle, he had an afro. People used to think we were mad. Well, we are fashion icons now. So it paid off, ” she said.

Lawani used the opportunity of remembering her long friendship with Denrele to explain the true meaning of friendship.

“At times, I used to wonder how my mom. Has the same friends for 30 years and i realized that they all minded their business and didn’t judge one another. For good friendship goals, loyalty is key. Have your friends back whether they are there or not. We don’t see daily, but when we see, its a turn up fire.”

“You know those kind of friends that when you call them once, they are there for you straight up to support any project. When I do something funnybonline, Denrele is the first person they call. He will call and say, ‘what have you done again? And we laugh about it. Not those ones that will crucify you at your back and comments your front like they love you. If you and your friends cannot tell eachother the truth, either good or bad, then you don’t have any business being friends. When people mess with my friends, its me they will always come and call. You know we have some types of friends that you will invite to party and they will come and cross legs. When I go for my friends parties, I don’t care about my status, I help them serve and even wash plate because I love caring for people. But in this day and age, dont go a mile for any friend that cannot move a muscle for you. It is not worth it. We all help but let’s pray not to help the ungrateful ones. I have few close friends and they all know I love them truly”.
