Popular Nigerian singer Teni’s younger sister, Tejumola Apata has become a medical doctor.

Tejumola took to her social media page to share the good news and also talk about the obstacles she encountered before achieving her dream which she describes as her greatest achievement.

Recalling memories from her childhood, Tejumola said that a gun was pointed to her head when she was only 2 weeks old and her father was assassinated before her family’s eyes.

Teniola and Tejumola are daughters of Late (RTD) Brigadier-General, Simeon Olaosebikan Apata, who fought for the Nigerian army under ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo during the civil war and he was assassinated on January 8, 1995.

24 years after her father’s death, Tejumola said that she has been able to make her mother proud.

The beautiful young woman said that she started college at 15, got her bachelor’s degree at 19, started medical school quite early and finally bagged her MD at 24.

Tejumola is definitely proud of her achievement.

Read what she said here:

Look at that little girl who had a gun pointed to her head when She was only 2 weeks old! Whose father sacrificed everything as he was assassinated right before their eyes, so, this is my biggest accomplishment so far.

My sister @tenientertainer and I worked so hard everyday to make our mother proud. And I think we succeeded in doing that!

I Started college at 15. Got my bachelors degree at 19. Started medical school before I was even legally allowed to drink alcohol. Finally bagged my MD at 24.

Throughout my journey I’ve been surprised by my strength and my determination. I’ve been very ambitious to experience all the opportunities life offered me.

I am fortunate, grateful and proud of what I have achieved so far and convinced that there is so much more I can do. I will be taking my talents to Gainesville Florida for 4 years to continue my medical training in obstetrics and gynecology. It’s been a great 9 years Atlanta! Will surely miss ya!
