The fashion and beauty sector over time has become a very lucrative industry where many make-up artiste smile to the bank after a successful bridal make-up and photography session.

 

 

The industry that could hardly boast of clients few years ago is now where make-up, photography and modeling is been taken up as a profession. Without mincing words, some professional make-up artistes’ charges over a million naira per day. Interestingly, investors are trooping in from all over the world to introduce their new brands and products while investing heavily in the industry.

 

All thanks to some creative individuals who fought tooth and nail to make sure the industry is put on the global platform. When you mention Tara Fela-durotoye, the first thing that comes to your mind is that pretty lady whose consistency as a bridal make-up artist is topnotch.

 

Tara is one of the pacesetters in the Nigerian bridal make-up industry who has attained enviable height. She is the founder and CEO of the prestigious, make-up brand, House of Tara International.

 

Tara Fela-durotoye is a role model to most of the make-up artists and mentor to young business owners across Africa through many platforms.

 

And one unique thing about Tara is that, she has been able to hold both the home and business front together. House of Tara International is a company that is spread across three main stream; The Make-up Academy and Tara product line which comprises of product lines and make-up kits. They also specialize in the distribution, retail and channel management of cosmetics.

 

Meanwhile, have you heard about BMPro? Banke Meshida-lawal is the founder of a leading make-up company, BMPro, a multi-faceted business that boasts of a cosmetic make-up line of over 40 products, a training school, a beauty advisory and an online magazine.

 

BMPro was derived from the name Banke Meshida Professional. Banke Mashida’s journey into being an influencer in the Nigerian beauty industry started over a decade ago during her university days.

 

Her skill at it made her turn it into a business upon graduation. Her expertise has warmed her into the hearts of numerous prominent clients such as Dame Patience Jonathan, wife of former Nigeria President, Goodluck Ebele Jonathan and Actress Dakore Akunde.

 

However, another multi-talented Nigerian singer, song writer and photographer, Toyin Bello popularly known as TY Bello is a versatile young woman who proudly stands as a role model to upcoming photographers and music artistes. TY Bello’s work is recognized both nationally and internationally. She ventures into photography when her band disbanded, a time photography was not thought of as a profession. She’s major in portrait photography, documentary and conceptual photography. TY Bello was the official photographer for the former president, Goodluck Jonathan.

 

TY Bello has also notably photographed celebrities like Tinnie Tempah, Mo Abudu, Nike Adeyemi, Linda Ikeji and many more. The world should not be in a haste to forget ‘the grass to grace story of Olajumoke the bread seller’. TY Bello discovered her while she was working on a photo session with the Nigerian-British rapper, Tinnie Temph on the street of Lagos State.
