#Mondaymotivation: Success is not as glamorous as people think it’s difficult to maintain – Victoria Beckham

English fashion mogul, Victoria Beckham, says people wrongly assume success is all glitz and glam, not considering the difficulty in maintaining such a status once achieved.

The 45-year-old, who doubles as wife to David Beckham, a former British professional footballer, was speaking about her career as a fashion designer in the February issue of the Harpers Bazaar.

She said her journey to fame  and subsequently establishing a critically acclaimed global fashion and beauty empire is consequential to the transformative power of “bloody hard” work on her part.

“I never just woke up like this. I learned enormously, being young and famous. You realize it’s more difficult to maintain success than actually achieve it. It’s not as glamorous as people think,” Victoria said.

In 2016, she collaborated with Estée Lauder, an American fashion mogul, on a sell-out beauty capsule but later launched Victoria Beckham Beauty, her stand-alone collection, in last September.

“I’ve been obsessed with make-up, skincare, and wellness for longer than I remember. I wanted to create a brand of the future, focusing on formulas, sustainability, and inclusiveness,” she continued.

Speaking further on her insecurities and family life, Victoria deemed herself not beautiful but agreed that she recognizes her imperfection while learning to live contentedly with them.

“Do I think myself beautiful? Absolutely not. But I make the best of what I have. I see my imperfections and flaws. I smile: it’s who I’m and I’m not going to try to change that,” the singer said.

“It’s taken me a long, long time to recognize that by 45 years old, actually, I’m all right. I work hard, I look ok, I’ve got four children that I’m incredibly proud of, a wonderful husband and I feel content.

“I’m lucky to have a job that doesn’t feel like a job; it’s my passion. But, with the kids, both David and I are hands-on. One of us will always do the school run. And we try to be home at dinnertime.”
