9 quick facts about versatile actress, Fathia Williams at 51

Popular Nollywood actress, filmmaker, producer and director, Fathia Akorede Adunni Williams is 51 today.

The multi-award-winning actress, gave a hint that she is spending her special day in Dubai, in a post on her Instagram page, early on Wednesday morning, when she wrote: “Woooooooowwwwww🙈😻😻😻 it’s 12am here in Dubai💃🏻💃🏻💃🏻 But I will still wait for you guys to wish me in Nigeria time🙈❤ Happiest Birthday To Me❤❤❤❤❤ May God keep guiding and protecting me🙏🏻 Am so happy🙈🙈🙈.”

 

Here are nine quick facts about the versatile actress

Simply known as Fathia Williams, she was born on February 5, 1969.

 

Contrary to thoughts that Fathia is Yoruba speaking state because of her prowess in speaking the language, she actually hails from Ukwara, Okpara, Delta State

 

She grew up in a middle-class polygamous home

 

She had a catholic background

 

Fathia attended Olufumilayo Nursery School, Ikeja; Maryland Primary School, Maryland Comprehensive Secondary School, before proceeding to Kwara State Polytechnic, where she bagged a national diploma in Law.

Before delving into acting, Fathia spent some time at low-paying jobs. She worked as a receptionist at Chips Bit & Bit, a computer company in Ikeja, where she early N5, 000 per month

 

She got into Yoruba movie industry through her mentor, Alhaji Fatai Temiola in the early 90s

 

She was married to popular actor, Saheed Balogun and the marriage was a toast of the movie industry. Things went awry in 2006, and this led to eventual divorce in 2014. They had two children together.

 

She has won so many awards, notable was the 2014 African Movie Academy Award for Best Actress of the Years
