Naija Exploitation : Bought small pack of chloroquine for N4,000 – Tchidi Chikere
Nigeria film maker, Tchidi Chikere has lamented on naija Exploitation as price of chloroquine goes up to N4,000.
According to him, he usually buys the drug at N700 but now it’s ×6 the usual price.
This comes in less than 24 hours after Donald Trump announced chloroquine can be used to treat COVID-19.
The FDA made it clear in a statement afterwards that
“there are no FDA-approved therapeutics or drugs to treat, cure or prevent COVID-19.”
Went further to say that it is working with government and academic entities that are investigating whether chloroquine can be used “to treat patients with mild-to-moderate COVID-19 to potentially reduce the duration of symptoms, as well as viral shedding, which can help prevent the spread of disease.”
After Trumps speech, majority of people have gone ahead to purchase chloroquine.
Tchidi posted a picture of the drugs on IG and captioned ;
“JUST BOUGHT CHLOROQUINE NOW FOR 4,000 NAIRA PER SMALL PACK. USED TO BE 700 NAIRA PER PACK..NAIJA! EXPLOITATION
