Monday Motivation : Life is not a marathon, Just take your time

I’ve come to understand that Life Is Not A Marathon, we all need to take out time and figure it out.

On the street of Twitter the other day, a young man tweeted;

“If you are above 24 and still lives under your parents roof, you are a disgrace and a loser”

I went through the replies and I can imagine what’s going through the mind of most people.

It’s either they fell into that category and are being defensive and aggressive.

Note: that statement can make a person go straight into depression or look for very easy ways to “blow” (This most times do not end well)

A particular retweet stood out for me, Akin Alabi quoted the tweet and said ;

What kind of lie is this? At 24 I still beg my mum for as little as N100.

Akin Alabi is the owner of Nairabet, a member of the house of representative and I must say a talk and do politician.

He is business savvy and an author and dishes out value on his timeline.

What I’m trying to say is this ; it doesn’t matter how old you are.

It doesn’t matter how far your mates have gone.

It also doesn’t matter if your friends, brothers, schoolmates, village people have all made it and you seem left out.

Life is not a marathon, we all came at different times hence our paths are different.

He made it at 25 should not discourage you to start at 35 or 40.

Life is what you make of if, do not let another’s finishing time disrupt your starting time.

It’s only those who damn all distraction and remain focused in their lane crosses over to the other side.

The difference between you and that person should not be based on age rather find out what’s not working and fix it.

No matter how old you are, you can reinvent yourself and be celebrated afterwards.

Let no one rush you, this can diminish your success rate.

Work on your master plan with absolute commitment and discipline. Let their success be an inspiration to you.

Find what works for you and no matter your age, do not be ashamed to make the rest of your life the best of your life.

If you can believe in you, be focused and disciplined, the sky will become your starting point.

When this happens, you’d become even greater and successful than you ever imagined.

Remember life is not a marathon ; let no one rush you for any reason.

This applies to every phase in life, marriage, academics,relationships and so forth.

To your continuous success and happiness.
