Ahead of ‘Three’ album: Patoranking Drops ‘Abule’ Single
Patrick Okorie, a Nigerian singer better known as Patoranking, has come through with ‘Abule’, his highly-anticipated single.
The gifted songwriter announced the release of the new song to his numerous fans on Wednesday night.
The less than four-minute project sees Patoranking crooning about his days in the hood and the excitement that comes with being in the company of friends.
It also sees the singer reflecting on life in ‘Abule’, which in English means a rural area.
Citing his experience at Ebutte Meta, a suburb in Lagos, the music star described the rural area as a setting for unique moments laced with different interesting happenings.
“This is another story from our abule. Make l tell you wetin happened for our abule. There was this big party for inside our abule, l went there, l went there with my best friend Kunle, Kunle dey there with his girlfriend Sile… everything dey, we were just having fun…,” he can be heard singing.
The new project comes days after he announced the release date for ‘Three’, his forthcoming album, billed for August 28.
Patoranking has continued to blaze the trail since he rose to prominence in 2014 following the release of ‘Girlie O’, his hit single.
With several awards such as ‘Best Dancehall Artist’ at the 2016 AFRIMA and ‘African Artiste of the Year’ at the Vodafone Ghana Music Awards; he has established himself as a popular figure in the Nigerian music industry.
