It’s your responsibility to raise your sons to respect womanhood, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu tells mothers

Ondo state first lady, Betty Anyanwu-Akeredolu, has reacted to reports of the reconciliation of Channels TV reporter, Pius Angbo and his wife, Ifeyinwa.

Ifeyinwa, a medical doctor, at the weekend shared a video online in which she accused her husband Pius, a Channels TV correspondent based in Benue, of constantly subjecting her to acts of domestic violence in their six year-old marriage.

On Monday, December 7, Benue state governor, Samuel Ortom, intervened and reconciled the couple.

Reacting to the development in a series of tweets, Mrs Akeredolu said it is the responsibility of women to raise their sons to respect women adding that wives are not the rehabilitation centres for their ”badly raised husbands”.

“ON BENUE DOMESTIC VIOLENCE GONE VIRAL: Nigerian Mothers, it is ur responsibility 2 raise ur sons 2 respect womanhood. Counsel them not 2 turn somebody’s daughter a punch bag. Wife beating no matter d circumstance is UNACCEPTABLE!

IT IS A NO NO 4 ME & PPL WT A SENSE OF DECENCY!

She also had this to say in another tweet: “WOMEN ARE NOT REHABILITATION FOR BADLY RAISED MEN. REAL MEN DON’T BEAT THEIR WIVES.

MOTHERS DO YOUR JOB FROM INFANCY!!!”
