Roselyn Oluwatosin Bamigboye Launches Native Female Fashion Brand in Ilorin

By Rita Okoye

At just 22 years old, Roselyn Oluwatosin Bamigboye, a passionate young designer from Ilorin, has officially launched her fashion brand dedicated to crafting elegant native female wears that blend cultural heritage with modern style. Operating from her studio beside Saw Mill, Oke Ogun, Upper Gaa-Akanbi, Agbabiaka Road, Ilorin, Roselyn has introduced a collection that redefines how young Nigerian women wear traditional attire; with bold fabrics, flattering cuts, and a contemporary touch.

According to Roselyn, her journey began out of a desire to express creativity through fabric and to celebrate African femininity. “Fashion is a language, and through my designs, I speak confidence, culture, and grace,” she said at the launch. Roselyn’s early designs draw inspiration from Yoruba patterns, intricate hand embroidery, and the beauty of everyday Nigerian women.

Her brand is already attracting attention across Ilorin and surrounding states, marking her as one of the emerging voices in Nigeria’s fashion industry.

Roselyn’s vision extends beyond design; she is nurturing a brand that inspires young women to embrace their creativity while championing thoughtful, locally rooted production. She sources fabrics locally and works closely with fashion designers across Nigeria, fostering community engagement and encouraging skill development among young creatives.

Her innovative approach has quickly gained attention across Ilorin and neighbouring states, with growing demand for her custom-made outfits and ready-to-wear line. Industry watchers have described her as one of the most promising new voices in Nigeria’s fashion landscape, with a unique ability to reinterpret tradition for a new generation.

As her brand continues to evolve, Roselyn envisions expanding into national and international markets, showcasing Nigerian craftsmanship on a broader stage while maintaining authenticity and quality. For her, fashion is not merely a business but rather a movement that celebrates culture, confidence, and the beauty of African womanhood.
