The perfect way to make doughnuts
This delicious treat needs little to no introduction. It’s mildly sweet, soft and slightly chewy. Doughnuts is basically the Old fashioned Yeast raised kind of doughnuts.
It is often fried not baked and it uses Yeast as its primary leaving agent. They are popular everywhere in the world with different names, they are fun to make and it’s also a great way to spend time with your kids in the kitchen.
Ingredients:
540g Plain flour or Bread flour (4 1/2 cups)
Depending on the density of your bread flour, you may need an extra 100g)
60g Butter (4 1/2 tbsp)
135 Sugar (2/3 cup)
9g Instant Yeast (1 tbsp)
2 Eggs
200ml room temperature milk or water
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
1/2 tsp Salt
NOTE: If you’re kneading by hand, it’ll take roughly 25 minutes to achieve a smooth and stretchy dough.
