House of Iveshead Releases Its AfroChic’21 Collection

House of Iveshead, founded by Beatrice Omere, aims to redefine the use of Ankara fabric by challenging the perception that it is suitable only for special occasions.

The brand’s latest endeavour, the AfroChic’21 collection, embodies this mission by offering dresses that are versatile enough for various events, from casual gatherings to more formal affairs.

The AfroChic’21 collection distinguishes itself by presenting Ankara dresses designed for multiple settings, effectively dispelling the notion that Ankara is only for special occasions.

Each piece is meticulously crafted to merge traditional African prints with contemporary styles, making them suitable for both everyday wear and special events.

This approach ensures inclusivity, allowing women from all walks of life to find something that suits their style and needs.

A notable departure from her previous collection, which offered less variety, Omere’s latest work shows commendable progress.

The AfroChic’21 collection features a diverse range of fabrics and designs, ensuring no woman feels left out.

This inclusivity is a significant improvement, demonstrating Omere’s commitment to broadening the appeal of Ankara fabric.

The choice of colours in the AfroChic’21 collection is both daring and sophisticated, featuring a mix of bright, eye-catching hues and more subdued, earthy tones.

This diverse palette not only makes each piece unique but also ensures there is something for everyone, regardless of personal style or preference.

In an effort to carve out a distinct identity for her brand, Omere has adopted an unconventional naming strategy for her designs, choosing to name her dresses after popular Nigerian slangs rather than the conventional names often used in the fashion world.

This creative approach adds an element of intrigue and reflects Omere’s desire to tell a story through her creations. By giving each piece a unique name, she imbues them with a sense of personality and individuality, transforming them into pieces of art with their own narratives.

Beatrice Omere’s vision to remove the stigma surrounding Ankara fabric and her innovative approach to design have culminated in a collection that is both versatile and captivating.

By incorporating modern design elements, using a bold colour palette, and employing an unconventional naming strategy, Omere has created a collection that not only celebrates African heritage but also appeals to a global audience.

The AfroChic’21 collection demonstrates the endless possibilities of Ankara and asserts House of Iveshead’s place in the world of fashion.
