“Don’t Expect to go Free” – President Muhammadu Buhari reacts to the assassination of APC chieftain, Ahmed Gulak

May 31,2021
Share:

Unknown gunmen assassinated an APC chieftain and former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan, Ahmed Gulak in Imo state.

Gulak was reportedly shot dead by unknown gunmen on Saturday night, May 29, while returning to Abuja from Owerri, the capital of Imo state.

Reacting to the news, President Muhammadu Buhari said; “Let me warn that nobody or group of people who engages in such despicable acts should expect to go free. We’ll deploy all resources at our disposal to ensure that such callous and criminal elements are brought to justice”.

See reactions:

Unless, and until relevant agencies begin to hold persons accountable for their crimes, others will be emboldened to tread the same path of criminality.

Ahmed Gulak killed in Imo and Nasarawa lawmaker heading towards Kaduna from Akwanga kidnapped;Road travels in some parts of the country have become a dangerous expedition and a hellish experience.

You are asking what Ahmed Gulak was doing in Owerri.
if they ask you what you are doing in Lagos
You will start claiming Victim

I condemn the assassination of my old friend & former Special Assistant to @GEJonathan, Ahmed Gulak, in Owerri this morning. The cowards trailed him, targetted him, identified him & killed him. This was the handiwork of skilled professionals. May the soul of Ahmed rest in peace.

Nigerian Police announced withdrawal of vip police escorts, and they still blame Ahmed Gulak for moving without escort?

I think pressmen should stop asking the Nigeria police about crime, they’re as irresponsible as Buhari. https://t.co/qmVcohXHOW

If we allow ourselves to be deceived into a state of crises again, we will tow the road of destruction & everybody will feel the pain. I hope we are sensible enough to look beyond politics & ethnicity , in order for us and our children to inherit a workable Nigeria. #NeverAgain

Ex-Special Adviser to @GEJonathan Ahmed Gulak was assassinated yesterday on his way to Imo airport because @MBuhari has lost total control of governance, tomorrow across Nigeria join the rally and on June 12 ensure you join the #Buharimustgo rallies. Shut down d evil regime! pic.twitter.com/jiDGYTiXFo

— Omoyele Sowore (@YeleSowore) May 30, 2021

Never really understood what Gulak went to do among strange political bedfellows.

I remember he oversaw the Imo State primaries that produced Hope Uzodinma and it was so controversial he had to announce the result in Abuja and Oshiomhole kicked against it.

God rest his soul.
