Greenfield Student Kidnappers Make Fresh Demands From Parents
Greenfield University’s abducted students’ parents have been approached, requesting new requests to ensure their children’s release.
The abductors initially demanded N800 million in ransom, but their families and the government failed to fulfill their demands, resulting in the deaths of five students in the first week.
Sani Idris Jalingo, alias Baleri, the mastermind behind the kidnapping, demanded N100 million and ten bikes on Monday after threatening to kill the remaining students if they did not comply with his demands.
They seem to have given up on their plan to kill the remaining students until the ransom was paid. On Monday, May 10, they did, however, contact the students’ families separately. They demanded N10 million from each parent for each of their children.
One of the victims’ family members stated:
“They called us today (Monday) and told me that if I pay N10 million today, my sister will be released today.”
