Abubakar Malami orders the prosecution of people who continue to use Twitter
Attorney General of the Federation and Minister of Justice, Abubakar Malami, SAN, has ordered that violators of the Federal Government’s ban on Twitter activities in Nigeria be prosecuted immediately.
Malami directed the Director of Public Prosecutions of the Federation (DPPF) to “swing into action” and “begin in earnest the process of prosecuting violators of the Federal Government’s de-activation of Twitter operations in Nigeria,” according to a statement released by his media aide, Umar Gwandu.
“Malami directed the DPPF to liase with the Ministry of Communication and Digital Economy, National Communication Communication (NCC) and other relevant government agencies to ensure the speedy prosecution of offenders without any further delay.” the statement reads in part
