Bandits reportedly kidnap Female Students at Kebbi Federal Government College
Gunmen are said to have kidnapped many female students at the Federal Government College in Birnin Yauri, Kebbi State.
The incident’s details are still hazy, however, a security officer was shot and killed during the operation, according to Daily Trust.
In the early hours of morning, assailants on motorbikes assaulted the school from the nearby Rijau woodland. The mobile police officers guarding the school were alleged to have been overwhelmed.
Thirty kids and three instructors are said to have been kidnapped.
This is the country’s third known school attack in the last three weeks. Pupils were kidnapped from an Islamic school in Tegina, Niger State, on May 30. Bandits invaded the Nuhu Bamali Polytechnic in Kaduna State two weeks later and kidnapped a number of students and teachers.
