Father’s Day: A Couple Ways to Pamper Daddy

Its Father’s Day today and like Mother’s Day, Father’s Day has since become a recognisable day in Nigeria, with children and even wives celebrating fathers in various forms. Although most sons and daughters don’t need a specific date to celebrate the most important man in their life, however, every dad in the country does get his special day on the calendar.

Today’s celebration reminds one of the important and sometimes, overlooked role that fathers play in the lives of children and the family in general. The day is thus a rare opportunity to formally recognize that fathers truly matter because of the role they play in the life of their children.

As we mark this year’s Father’s Day today, if you are still wondering how to make him feel special, here are some brilliant ideas to surprise and pamper him.

1. BREAKFAST IN BED

The best way to start off Father’s Day is to greet him with a tray full of his favourite food.

Everyone loves to be pampered and nothing speaks more of pampering then serving hot and delicious breakfast in bed.

 2. PAMPER HIM WITH A SPA TREATMENT

Mothers are not the only ones who appreciate a nice spa treatment; dads deserve some pampering too! Treat dad to a relaxing day by taking him to a spa for a nice massage and pedicure treatment. He will love every bit of it.

3. GIFT BASKET

As a wife and mother, if you or your kid’s cannot make out time for spa massage, give him a gift basket full of self-care goodies, including shaving creams, lotions and soaps, for a do-it-yourself treatment at home. Don’t forget to add some of his favourite things in the gift basket.

4. TAKE HIM OUT

Sometimes, we totally forget taking our dads out for literally anything, be it lunch or dinner. We always have time to make our weekend outings with our friends but, we hardly give time to our family. Spare this Sunday and take your dad out for an exquisite meal. He’ll love that.

5. HANDMADE CARDS

The easiest and perfect way to make dad feel special, is to make or buy him a Father’s day card. A simple card with little art and few lines from you to him is something that is not very difficult or time-taking, and will make him feel very happy and special. He will definitely keep that card forever in his safe place.

6. PLAN A MOVIE MARATHON

If going out is not your thing, then get together to watch the best of the movies or a new tv series with your dad and order some delicious food for a well-planned day. A movie marathon is definitely a good idea when it’s about staying at home.

7. THANK HIM

Just like mothers, fathers work hard and love their children unconditionally too. If you want to express your gratitude and love for your father, Father’s Day is the perfect opportunity. Write him a thank you letter, and get all the children to sign on it, just like the Father’s Day Cards.
