6 Interior Design New Year’s Resolutions You Should Make

January 2,2022
Share:

As with anything worthwhile, creating a unique space and calling it your own takes time and effort.Almost anything of importance (your health, your relationships, your work) can be aided significantly by inspired motivation.  New Year’s resolution gives you the chance to make improvements in these areas and in your environment.

Here are simple New Year’s resolutions to bring life into your home for 2022.

1. Be Adventurous with Colours Using bold colours in the home is a popular trend (and not going away anytime soon), and it is a sure way to quickly update any interior design. The monochromatic palette and muted colours are wonderful options, but maybe 2022 will be the year to shake it up a little!Even though painting a room is an easy design change, it is more of a commitment than accent pillows, throws, or vases.

2. Update your Décor Accessories Speaking of decor accents, sometimes it’s the little things that make the biggest difference. An interior design New Year’s resolution can simply be to budget for a new collection of decorative items. This is an inexpensive way to introduce new colour, pattern, texture, and finish to a space. Make pillows fun with geometric designs or update a lamp base with a new shade or add a vintage copper tray to the coffee table. Items such as these are great investments since they can be reused in a variety of spaces or in other combinations.

3. Declutter
” Keep only the things that speak to your heart.”. Discard the rest. This will allow you to reset your life and embark on a new lifestyle.”

4, Follow your Instincts
Each person has a little voice inside that encourages them to make the right decisions. Listen to that voice when it comes to your home’s interior design. You don’t need to buy an expensive sofa, if a sofa in the store seems too large for your apartment.

Make sure you double-check the measurements or get guidance from an interior designer.

5. Quality over Quantity Having a lot of furniture and decor in a room isn’t necessarily a sign of good design. Creating a beautiful space involves selecting pieces that are functional and stylish for a long time. Finding the perfect item can be easier if you ask a professional and shop around.

6. Think Sustainability

Sustainability is the future. Due to the depletion of natural resources, there are an increasing number of eco-friendly design options. Choose products made from reclaimed wood or invest in energy efficient methods for the perfect interior design resolution for the New Year.
Have an amazing new year
