DAISY COLLECTION BY TAILORS’ CLOSET: A CELEBRATION OF CHILDHOOD INNOCENCE AND STYLE

Tailor’s Closet recently released its latest collection, named after a beautiful flower that represents kids, The Daisy Collection. Daisy is a name that is also given to baby girls, and it is only fitting that the collection is named, as the dresses in this collection look like little flowers waiting to bud.

The Daisy Collection is made out of fabrics such as Taffeta, Tulle, Brocade, Ankara, and Satin. The dresses are made with such calm colours that each dress is distinct and almost as though one is looking at a horticulturist’s garden that is filled with beautiful flowers of different colours. One of the dresses in the collection has a black taffeta as the main fabric. The neckline is a V-neck with some shiny fabric used as embroidery to make it look bejeweled. The sleeves are short but made in the style of a short bell-sleeve. The waistline is a normal waist with a sash that ties to the front, thus mimicking a bow. The bow is made with Ankara fabric, which also forms another part of the gown, the lower part of the gown. The Ankara fabric is used on top, while a taffeta fabric is used under to serve as a type of layered gown. Both the upper and lower parts are arranged and sewn to resemble the way a petal folds into another.

Another gown in this collection is a beautiful blue gown with brocade fabric as the lower part of the gown. The upper part of the gown has tulle fabric used as an illusion fabric for the neckline to cover what would have otherwise been an exposed part of the chest. The sleeves are short but made as a puffed sleeve. The lower part, which is sewn with brocade, is pleated and attached to the upper part. This dress has a sash at the waistline that ties to the back.

Owanate Collins Jack is the founder, illustrator, and designer for Tailor’s Closet. When she is not designing for adults, she makes clothes that are bound to make kids feel confident and regal. The Daisy Collection is her latest collection, where she merges her skills as a designer with her gift as an illustrator. Her expertise and skill in design are evident in the choice of fabric, drape, and frill details in some part of the dresses in the collection. Miss Jack’s creative side also shines through in her use of bows on some dresses, while others feature sashes that can be tied backwards, which are things that little girls enjoy and find exciting. One can say that Miss Jack paid close attention to what little girls would like and created exactly that: an opportunity for them to channel their inner cartoon princesses while looking like the beautiful flowers that they are.

Owanate Jack hopes to remind everyone that confidence has to be grown from childhood, and dressing is one of the ways to do so. We hope this collection helps all the little girls who will get to own the dresses.
