Habeeb Okikiola, the controversial singer, better known as Portable, has apologized to the organizers of the 2022 Headies Awards for threatening his co-nominees.

Portable’s apology is coming few hours after the organizers threatened to disqualify him and consequently involve the police.

A few days after the release of the list of nominees, the 27-year-old had taken to his Instagram page to make death threats to his co-nominees.

In a video posted on his Instagram page, he said:

“Those are my awards, anybody else who wins I will ask for them to be killed. I will ask them to kill the person. If the organizers give my award to someone else, they will die.”

“No go give my award to another person, he go die o.”

Following his threat on the lives of other artistes, the award organizers also threatened to disqualify him if he fails to retract his statement and issue an apology on his social media pages.

Responding via his Instagram page on Friday night, ‘Street Wahala’ as he is called, teased the award organizers, saying they “nominated a mad man musician.”

“Headies, you invited a mad person and you’ve seen one…this year’s Headies will boom, you’ve nominated a mad man musician… street is taking over…we no fight, we just dey talk am, say we no want competition so make una give us our award.”

“No vex o bros. If I f*uck up, no be me be the first to do that. Plenty people don dey f*uck up. Abeg I wan collect my award.”
