The federal government has filed a 23-count charge against Peter Nwachukwu, late gospel singer, Osinachi’s husband.
Osinachi who passed away on April 8, was initially thought to have died of throat cancer.
However, it would later be revealed that she had been a silent victim of domestic assault from her now-embattled husband, Peter.
Her family members and friends further claimed that her death may be connected to an assault by her husband who was later arrested.
The case was initially transferred from the Lugbe police division to the State Criminal Investigation Department (SCID) and subsequently forwarded to the office of the attorney-general of the federation (AGF).
On Friday, it emerged that charges of culpable homicide had been filed against Peter before the FCT high court.
The charges were filed under sections 104 and 379 of the Administration of Criminal Justice Act 2015 and Section 221 of the Penal Code, and the Violence Against Persons Prohibition Act (VAPP).
Peter has accused of forcefully ejecting Osinachi from the family home and throwing her out of a moving vehicle.
The prosecution alleged that the defendant restrained her movement and locked her up in the house.
The estranged widower has also been also accused of emotional, verbal, and psychological abuse and further denied late Osinachi access to her money, isolating her from her family.
