Obi Cubana addresses Cubana club shooting by Burna Boy’s police escorts
The CEO of the Cubana Group of companies, Obinna Iyiegbu Tochukwu, better known as Obi Cubana, has broken his silence on the shooting that occurred at his Victoria Island Cubana club on June 8.
Two fun-seekers, Irebami Lawrence and his friend, Tolu, were allegedly shot by police escorts attached to Grammy-winning musician, Burna Boy, at the Cubana club situated on the Island.
One of Burna Boy’s police escorts was said to have opened fire, resulting to sustained injuries on the fun-seekers.
Meanwhile, the shooting was said to have occurred after Burna Boy allegedly made advances at a lady said to be Lawrence’s wife.
Addressing the incident, the Cubana boss said in an Instagram post on Monday, that he sympathised with all the people who were affected by the incident.
He further disclosed that his company has given all information at its disposal to “the legal authorities.”
“As regards the issues making rounds the social media, we at Cubana Group have given all information at our disposal to the legal authorities. However, we wholeheartedly sympathise with any/all those who may have been impacted by this.”

The Inspector-General of Police (IGP), Usman Alkali Baba, earliecondemned the incident and ordered a probe into the shooting.
