Simi, first female ever to hit 100m streams on Boomplay
On Boomplay, Simi has amassed 100 million streams, making her the first female artist to achieve that.
This was announced on Saturday throughout Boomplay’s social media accounts, one of Nigeria’s top music streaming services.
This was referred to as a “landmark achievement,” and Simi’s new songs were credited to her fifth solo album, “To Be Honest (TBH)”.
With her stats, Simi joins artists like Davido, Wizkid, Burna Boy, Omah Lay, Fireboy DML, and Joeboy who had already surpassed the 100 million streamer milestone.
As part of its dedication to ensuring inclusivity and representation in music, the platform is celebrating Simi’s latest accomplishment, according to Tosin Sorinola, its director of artiste and media relations.
“As an organisation, we will continue to recognise and celebrate the strides made by female artists globally.”
Simi has already broken the record for having 100 million streams on Audiomack as the first female artist from Africa.
Simi has previously broken a milestone by being the first female singer from Africa to exceed 100 million streams on Audiomack.
