Africa Fashion Week London (AFWL) 2022, the largest annual African Fashion Catwalk in Europe, may have come and gone, but the two days of fashion extravaganza left a lot of trends in its wake. The event which showcased homegrown and international designers at the Freemasons Hall in Covent Garden, London, featured colourful and vibrant exhibitions by notable designers for African fashion lovers.

However, the catwalk shows featured amazing collections from designers around the world and the runway was rife with trends to infuse into our wardrobes.

  1. Bright Hue

Give your wardrobe the needed glow with the brightest of colours. Go for bright-coloured dresses, playsuits, bra tops and blazers alike.

  1. Statement Sleeves

Oversized, power-packed sleeves are the season’s newest must-haves. For a tough take on femininity, step up your style with statement-making sleeves as seen on the AFWL runway.

  1. Indefectible Adire

Adire is definitely here to state and we are all for the innovative ways this indigenous fabric is being churned out by designers.

  1. . Palazzo Pants

Whether you’re jet-setting around the world or just going for a walk around the neighbourhood, this chic, yet comfortable, wardrobe staple makes the best companion.

  1. Snow White

The white trend of 2022 exudes refinement, versatility, and a certain vision of luxury. The key to pulling off the trend is to play with textures, layering, and volume, which will keep your look interesting.

6.. Ruffles

These feminine frills are always a delight on and off the runways. Ruffles are the best way to add volume to your looks both casual and sophisticated. The AFWL runway was rife with inspiration on how to wear this trend.

  1. Gothic Chic

If you love the dark vintage era take a cue from here and return to goth fashion with elements that are elegant and sexy.
