‘Zenith of power abuse’ – Filmmaker Ugezu J Ugezu reacts to student sent to prison over Aisha Buhari tweet

Nollywood filmmaker, Ugezu J Ugezu has reacted to the Nigerian student who was sent to prison over Aisha Buhari tweet.

For the veteran actor this is the zenith of power abuse and Nigerian should rise up and demand for justice.

Recall that a student of the Federal University, Dutse Jigawa, Aminu Mohammed, was sent to the Suleja Correctional Centre in Niger State after tweeting about the wife of the President, Aisha Buhari.

The student was arraigned at the FCT High Court No. 14 in Abuja on Tuesday for cyber stalking where he was denied bail despite pleading not guilty to the charges filed against him.

Mohammed was allegedly arrested on the orders of the First Lady a few days ago sparking outrage by Nigerians with many calling for his release.

Mohammed had in June tweeted in Hausa that the First Lady was feeding fat on the poor people’s money.

The tweet reads, “Su mama Anchi Kudin Talakawa an koshi,” meaning, “Mama has fed fat on poor people’s money.”

The 500-level student was picked up from his school and taken straight to the Presidential Villa where he was allegedly brutalized, maltreated and humiliated by the police suspected to be men belonging to the Department of State Services.

Reacting to this, Ugezu J Ugezu said: “This is the very zenith of abuse of Power.

All the abuses ill informed Nigerians gave Good luck Jonathan in 2015, he never ordered the arrest of anyone.

Someone should remind the first lady that IT IS BETTER FOR ONE TO HAVE POWER AND NOT USE IT, THAN USE (ABUSE) THE POWER THAT ONE DOESN’T EVEN HAVE.

Nigerians rise up…. WE ARE BACK IN THE DARK DAYS OF MILITARY BRUTALITY AND CRIMINALIZING INSULTS.”
