Wizkid, Tems win NAACP Awards for second time

Tems and Wizkid, two well-known musicians from Nigeria, were among the first winners of the 2023 National Association for the Advancement of Coloured People Awards to be declared.

Tems’ rendition of “No Woman, No Cry” for Black Panther took up the award for Outstanding International Music.

The Outstanding Collaboration (Contemporary) category was won by Wizkid’s contribution to Chris Brown’s song “Call Me Everyday.”

Beyonce, who received three awards for Best Female Artist, Outstanding Soul/R&B song for “Cuff It,” and Outstanding Album for “Renaissance,” was among the other winners.

During Monday night’s first night of the show, the winners were revealed.

The NAACP award honors black performers in the arts.
