Micheal Jackson’s cousin, Taj, thanks Will Smith for Oscar slap

Taj Jackson, the nephew of late music icon, Michael Jackson, has thanked Will Smith for slapping Chris Rock at the 2022 Academy Awards and calling out the comedian for treating his family as a “punching bag”.

The singer criticized Rock for attacking, bullying, and harassing his deceased uncle during his comedy specials, particularly his most recent Netflix program, “Chris Rock: Selective Outrage.”

Taj also criticized the comedian on Twitter for equating the King of Pop with R. Kelly in light of alleged past abuse.

He wrote;

Chris Rock has used my family as punching bags for his entire career. Yet I am supposed to feel bad for him getting slapped and humiliated at the Oscars.

After seeing a new clip of him attacking my dead uncle in the first minutes of his Netflix special, I have 3 things to say.

What did my family ever do to you to warrant these decades of harassment and your constant bullying disguised as jokes?

Just because you were bullied early on in life doesn’t give you the excuse to bully others now.

Thank you, Will Smith.

Taj Jackson

In his most recent Netflix stand-up special, “Selective Outrage,” comedian, Chris Rock made a playful comparison between the late King of Pop and singer-turned-convict R Kelly, noting that while both were guilty of the same crime, only one was attacked.

He said:

The thing I have a problem with is selective outrage, selective outrage. Everybody, you know what I’m talking about.

One person does something, they get cancelled. Somebody else does the same thing, nothing. You know what I’m talking about.

You know, like the kind of people that play Michael Jackson songs but won’t play R Kelly. Same crime, one of them just got better songs.
