Celine Dion announces new album, film “Love Again” despite health struggles
Canadian pop superstar, Celine Dion, has announced the release of a new album called “Love Again”, which is the soundtrack for a romantic comedy film of the same name.
The album features five new songs as well as some of her past hits. The film, directed by Jim Strouse and starring Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan, is set to be released in theaters on May 5.
In a statement, Dion expressed her joy in appearing in the film and working with the talented actors. She said, “I had a lot of fun doing this movie. And to have the privilege of appearing with beautiful and talented actors like Priyanka Chopra Jonas and Sam Heughan in my very first feature film is a gift that I will cherish forever.
“I think it’s a wonderful feel-good story, and I hope that people will like it, and like the new songs too”.
This announcement comes after the singer’s recent struggles with a neurological disorder called Stiff-Person Syndrome, which has affected her ability to perform.
In a tearful video posted on Instagram a few months ago, Dion revealed that she would not be able to start her European tour as planned due to muscle spasms caused by the disorder.
She later cancelled her North American tour and postponed her European tour until 2024.
The cancelled tour would have been her first global concert tour in a decade and the first without her husband-manager, Rene Angelil, who passed away from cancer in 2016.
Despite the setbacks, Dion remains determined to continue making music and entertaining her fans.
The release of “Love Again” and its accompanying film is a testament to her resilience and commitment to her art.
